New updates for Summer + Fall 2024

In the past year, I’ve experimented with some different pricing models based on feedback I’ve received, and going into summer and fall of 2024, I decided to make some changes. When I decide pricing, I have to balance a few things: 1) what I feel my work and time are worth, 2) what clients can and will realistically pay, and 3) what consistently delivers the best results for me.

So, with that in mind, I have found that overwhelmingly, clients prefer simplicity. They like to know in advance how much they can expect to spend, with some room for flexibility and additional purchases. I’ve seen many boudoir photographers who charge a $300 session fee, then surprise clients with as much as $2,000 for a basic photo album. While there will always be a few who can get away with that, I think that in most cases it’s better to keep overall pricing in line with a client’s expectations.

With that in mind, here are some of the changes I’ll be making going forward:

1. Session fees are $299

The session fee covers your two-hour in-studio photography session and retouching of 75 photos, which are sold separately. Photos are delivered within 10 business days to an online, password-protected gallery so you have full control over who has access to your photos.

2. All photos and products are sold separately

I admit, I’ve gone back and forth on this one; many photographers include their digital photos in the price. However, in my case, my editing process is time-consuming, and I want clients to only keep the photos they really love. Digital photos will be available individually for $49 apiece, or as a collection for $899.

3. You can design your own album for a fraction of the cost!

Late last year, I launched self-designed fine art albums. This means that when you get your photos, you can design and order your own fine art album right from your password-protected online gallery. This is a huge boon to my clients, because a significant part of the cost of albums in the past has been the fact that the photographer is the one who has to design it — which entails paying for expensive software, committing lots of time to design, and finalizing the design (“proofing”) with clients. That’s a lot of time that could be spent taking photos with new clients, marketing, or editing.

Now, you can build your own album online and see real-time price adjustments as you go. It saves me time and saves you lots of money! It truly is a win-win. The albums are absolutely stunning heirloom albums that will never fade, smear, or discolor.

4. My full pricing is available online

Of course, one of the first questions any photographer is asked is “How much does it cost?” I know it can be frustrating to see a page that says “investment,” but then has little or no actual pricing information. I believe that in 2024, customers want and deserve to be fully informed so they can plan accordingly. You can now view my pricing online here.
